I have been so blessed to have found my soul mate. Chaz and I met when I was about 13. We started dating when I was 16. After two months, there was this connection where we both know that this was it. We had found the one. However, at 16 and 17, you are dumb for thinking this, and we both felt that way too, so we waited, and waited, and even waited some more. We went through 6 total years of college and an additional year apart, and finally, last April, we made the big move. Seven years together and we were finally there. Newly engaged and embarking on the next adventure together: an apartment. We felt on top of the world and have been there ever since.

And along our journey, we have met some wonderful people and they too have shared in our adventures as a couple. Sometimes I think it is so funny that Chaz and I put in seven years, yet are surrounded by married or engaged people who I thought would have a while before they finally settled down. Yet through our almost eight years together, I have watched my wild and engaging Sri Lanken roommate get married and had a baby!

I also got to witness my best friend get married to her love of two years and enjoyed every minute of helping her. Her wedding date fell one week before Chaz and I moved into our apartment and two weeks before we celebrated seven years together.

And now, my other wild, crazy, livin it up best friend is engaged. Just over a week after Chaz and I will celebrate one year of marriage, she will say “I do” herself.

It is funny to me, that they are all at this stage in life. But it really isn’t odd or funny, or strange at all. In fact, it is pretty normal. However, when you have waited and put in seven years, it is hard for you to fathom that courtship is usually not that long.

When I was in college, or even the end of high school, I thought that I would grow up faster than others since I had a steady boyfriend. I thought they would wait to get married and I would be the "old, married" friend. Turns out, I was wrong, and I couldn’t be happier. This is by far one of the greatest times in my life and the adventure just continues to get better. I love being surrounded by couples and marriage, and confident single friends who are still living it up. With in the span of two years, I will have been a bride, matron of honor, and a bridesmaid. Just goes to show you that everything works out and there really is no one way to go about life. In fact, everyone’s journey is just a little bit different.

The past and present collide...

This past weekend in Warroad was a blast. A lot of family and friends, a lot of hockey, and a lot of running around.

Since my dad is from Warroad, and my grandma had flown in from Colorado, we made sure to see a lot of friends! My grandma was pretty much in heaven being able to visit all her friends! And it was such a blessing! While being tiring at the same time. We were up at 7am and hit the sack around midnight! What a schedule!

We even had a chance to visit with some family from Canada!

It was a busy and wonderful trip!

Since coming home, Chaz and I have made the decision to get a cat. A girl, to hopefully avoid any spraying. The name of the cat we are trying to adopt right now is named Faith! Please pray that we are able to adopt! We love the pictures of her and are excited to see where this process takes us. Hopefully her name is a hint at what is to come!

And after a crazy weekend, and a crazy week, I am already looking forward to the weekend! Yeah for tomorrow being Thursday!!!

Holding Out...

Some things worth waiting for…

Hold out for the one that will open the door for you. The one that will heat your car up in the morning, even when they don’t have to be up for another two hours. The one that will make the bed before you even get a chance, just to make your life easier.

Hold out for the one that will watch crappy reality shows, just because you want to. The one that will go on walks with you, or bike alongside you when you run.

Hold out for the one that will make you laugh. The one that thinks everything you do is great. The one who chooses to wear a tie that matches your dress, simply to show that you’re together.
Hold out for the one that encourages you to go out with your friends. The one who supports everything you desire. The one who believes you can do it.

Hold out for the one that relaxes you the most. The one that cheers for every success you have. The one who will stand off to the side proud.

Hold out for the one who irons your clothes. The one who picks up your mess. The one who will be just fine if you don’t do the dishes tonight.

Hold out for the one that gives you butterflies, no matter how long you have been together. The one who will stroke your head as you cry. The one who knows that you are the one.

Hold out for the one that makes you, in return, want to do exactly the same.

This has been the week!

Honestly, a great week! Why you ask? Well let me tell you.

On Sunday I went wedding dress shopping with Laurizza at David's Bridal. Her mom and future mother in law also came! She tried on a boat load of dresses and they all looked amazing! Even though everything looked great, she did not find the one.

Once Laura gets something in her head, however, it needs to happen, and like NOW! She is a very fast paced girl. So the next day, she called the Wedding Shoppe and boom, appointment that night! And guess what? She found the one! It is simply beautiful! it will take some breath away for sure!

I followed up this great adventure with a work out! I was motivated! And have continued to be. Chaz and I also took in a dinner in downtown at one of our favorites, Eli's, which we have not done in a while. Perfect!

Last night Laura and I took in a dinner with a very old friend, katie Anderson. I went to 5th and 6th grade with her. For someone who has lived in a small town, this may not seem as extraordinary, but we lived in the cities, and I moved to a small town, so it is amazing to see these connections stay alive. it was a good night and now, Laura has a wedding singer! Go Katie!

Tomorrow is Friday, and I will be taking the day off to head up to Warroad with my family for Mikey's hockey. I can not wait to get back up to Warroad, my dad's hometown. I am excited to see some familiar faces and my grandma is flying in from Colorado to come with us. I have a feeling some people are very excited to see her. It has been a while!

Hockeytown USA, here we come!

Good evening Minnesota!

It was a great night in the State of Hockey! The Wild ate the Flames for dinner, sending them home with a 4-1 loss. Chaz and I enjoyed the game, along with a host of french fries, hot dogs, and ice cream! Great night for the new "healthy eating" me! NOT! But come Friday, I will regain my membership to the YMCA! I am taking on the cost of said membership for the better of myself! I love the pool, classes, and the good old fashioned machines! I have been with out my membership for almost a month and I am glad I will be getting it back! My bff Lauraizza is also getting a membership so it will be great to have a work out buddy/motivating partner!!!

Friday will also bring about a new hair "do"! My parents got me a gift card to Aveda for Christmas so I can now get my hair done with out feeling guilty! Prior to the wedding, I was getting my hair done at Aveda on a regular basis. Since my hair is a big pile of wonderful mess, I have come to learn that really only the more natural products that Aveda uses work in my hair. Everything else leaves it dry and icky. But since my wedding, I have no excuse for spending the money, however, I did not want my hair to take a step back by using a product bad for it. So, I have done nothing with my hair, and it shows! But not after Friday! This girl will look like a new WOMEN! Yippee!

I am off to bed now but 2010 is off to a great start! Can't wait to see what else it holds!

Hello 2010!

Today we had a great Christmas at my parents house! Our gifts were great! I especially will enjoy the Aveda gift card! I hope to look like a new women! But the best part was being with my family and pets! I miss them all not living in B town and I enjoy when I get to go back!

I also am in the process of buying my parents Jetta! That is the surprise! Just had to keep you on the edge of your seat. I went to the dealership to get a new "used" car, however, the financing became a pain, and that was not the route I wanted. My parents helped us brain storm and they offered us to buy their Jetta! Score! We took them up on their offer! So now, I have a working reliable car.

Starting the new year off on a good foot!
